Steam Link App from play store remaps nvidia button on Shield Controller so it opens steam overlay like Xbox controller on PC and also remaps back and play android buttons to Xbox start and select in a very cool way. I can't help with your other questions, as I am not sure. If you find that it's still opening the google assistant, go to "More options" in the app and then turn on 'Alternate button handling'. If you want it to do nothing, set it to "No Action". Press the Nvidia logo button on the controllerĬlick on it and then toggle ON the "Customize" buttonĬlick on Single tap and then set the action you want to happen when you press the button. After it's enabled and you're in the app, go down to: It's pretty straight forward in Button Mapper. Obviously the easiest would be to use a 3rd party app. Only way to do it would be to either use a 3rd party button mapping program like 'Button Mapper' ( link here) or root your Shield and directly edit the controller's key layout file to change what command is sent when pressing that button.

The Shield Android TV supports Youtube, Netflix, Google Assistant, Plex, Kodi (or the optimized SPMC) and many other Android video-streaming apps and games. The 2017 editions come with an always listening games controller that offers Google Assistant support. It comes in two versions - a 16 GB version for $199/£199 and a 500GB version for $299/£299. just a simple URL.The NVIDIA Shield Android TV is a high-powered Android TV device, featuring a Tegra X1 and 3GB of RAM (source). There are not any extra params or any data to actually POST.

I just can't figure out why something so simple doesn't work. I also set up the Shield with a fresh google account for the family so I'd have to re-purchase tasker if I went that route. I also tried to use the "send command" function instead and just write out the curl command, but for that I get "/system/bin/curl command not found". I've seen advice to load tasker to the android TV but that seems like such overkill when there is clearly a HTTP POST action built-in to button mapper.

I know the webhooks work, I can test them using tasker from my phone. Under advanced, there is HTTP POST as an option, but I put in my webhook url and then when I go to try it, I just get a blank toast message that pops up and nothing happens. I paid $4.99 for button mapper and it worked for my primary function of remapping the Netflix button to open Plex, but I want to trigger a webhook on double press. Has anybody successfully configured Button Mapper to send a HTTP POST to a Home Assistant webhook?
